1st background attempt

inspiration;

original render;

colouring attempts;

my first try at colouring over the backgrounds but am not sure this is how you want it to be? :o
crit is welcome and encouraged for I am deeply confused and think i got the lighting wrong! XD the pillars are a bit wonky but i can fix, just wanted to upload an attempt.

  1. Your colouring skillz amazing me even further!!! How was it in the end? Not too difficult I hope? >_<

    The colours are perfect, you've got the right tone for the 1st class corridors XD.

    - Details to add wil be stuff over the windows like safety signs and no smoking stickers over the windows.

    - Don't worry about the bg behind the windows, I'll be making a quick random 'blur' animation to run behind it for the real thing but I'd like to keep what you've done for the bg for when the train is at a stand still for the crash scene if that's ok?

    - Back of the corridor would you be able to make it more obvious that it's an automatic slidey door if that's okay?

    - Compartment doors will just need to change to letters (Yu's room is carriage 1, room c). So adding a sign somewhere telling you which carriage you're in will also need to be added.

    - For the disappearing carriage, the idea was to mark a carriage that really sticks out (like an out of order sign) and for it to disappear. Since the angle of the train is done like this we won't be able to see this. To save time, i'll just use a different filter/texture to emphasise the difference and make it disappear.

    Other than that...I'm so happy. I'll download what you've done so far and do some post production to it and see what moody atmospheres I can come up with if you don't mind...

    You are awesome man!! This project is definitely picking up again! :D

  2. Oh yes I forgot as well - the compartment doors need to have a semi sophisticated lock system as the keys to each compartment are the user's personal train ticket. Other than that, not much to add :)

  8. Winning!

    So far there is two version. Sunset for the scenes before the crash then 'blood' sun set after the crash if I remember correctly. If in doubt, skim through the script, it'll be there! BG for the after crash scene but you don't have to worry about that for the time being as the 3D ppl will need to do an after crash render of the bg!

    And yes! Michelle, you've set the benchmark!! You have made colouring and illustrator skillz, you're putting yourself down!! XDD
